Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons for the post of Senior Data Scientist in the National Centre for Applied Artificial Intelligence (CeADAR). The Centre delivers applied research solutions to industry and its market-focused agenda is developed in conjunction with its strong membership base of over 80 MNCs and SMEs. CeADAR is seeking an experienced individual with more than 6 years of experience and demonstrated successful track record in applied data science. This is an opportunity to work on a number of diverse and exciting data science projects with a large range of industry partners.

Selection Criteria

  • Experience (>6 years) developing advanced machine learning solutions in industry, including applied research projects
  • M.Sc. or Ph.D. in computer science or numerical discipline
  • Expertise in modelling structure and unstructured data using both traditional and deep machine learning techniques and open-source libraries.
  • Experience in computer vision and text analytics using cutting-edge algorithms and techniques
  • Strong software development skills using Python and Java, Scala or similar languages, experience of back-end and front-end web development and strong database skills.
  • Experience in managing and processing large volumes of data
  • Experience working closely with industry partners on data analytics projects, particularly developing project specifications and delivering to deadlines on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experience working on-site with clients and interacting with both technical and managerial staff
  • Excellent communication skills (oral, written, presentation) with demonstrated experience of writing technical reports
  • Experience as technical leader
  • Flexibility to travel when required (10%)
